Arts Center has been a focus for entertainment and the arts since
1969. View outstanding performances or learn a new craft.
Affiliates include: Carolina Camera Club, Tryon Arts and Crafts,
Inc., Tryon Little Theater, Tryon Concert Association, and Tryon

Operating since the early 1930s, the
theater is a social and cultural hub for Tryon. The balcony
features electrostatic air purifiers to accomodate smoking
and serves a selection of domestic and imported beers.
Feature movies
are shown Wednesday through Saturday at 8:00pm with a matinee
on Sunday at 3:00pm. On the second and fourth Mondays and
Tuesdays of the month, the Tryon Film Society hosts art-speciality
films (foreign, docomentaries, etc.) at 7:00pm. Special events
such as plays and concerts happen throughout the year.

A non-profit contemporary art gallery
specializing in two-dimensional art, sculpture and fine
craft by emerging and established artists from the Southeast.
Three interior galleries provide more than 3000-sq. feet
of exhibition space and feature innovative shows that change
every two months. In addition, numerous art-related programs
educate people of all ages with walking tours, lectures, films,
concerts, literary readings, family nights and workshops.
The Upstairs was founded in
1978 and is supported, in part, by a strong membership.
The gallery moved into a beautiful new facility in 2004
in the heart of downtown Tryon. Hours are Tuesday through
Saturday 11am - 5pm.

for over ten years and she is a member of the Southern Highlands Craft Guild. Her work shows throughout the southeast in such

On display are more than 300 flags that
have represented this country since its founding. This educational
and historical display includes a 20-minute video and a guide
for a fee. Schools can make arrangements to bring students for
a 20-minute to an hour presentation. Provided by Polk County Memorial
Post 9116 of the VFW.
Open Saturdays from 2pm - 4pm, closed in the winter.
