Music with Jenny Arch at Saluda Inn & Wine Cellar

Jenny Arch, local singer songwriter lures fans with her unique folk songs this Friday at The Wine Cellar.  She will play tunes from her newly released debut album.   "Angels in Cahoots" is greatly influenced by Joni Mitchell and Ani Difranco.  “Arch displays a seemingly effortless talent to write tunes that are new and unique to the ear, but comfortable and familiar to the soul. The songs all come together to create a bittersweet musical journey; some moments so upbeat and carefree, and others so coated with melancholy and longing...” (Bold Life Magazine).

Tryon Concert Assoc Concert Series - The Takacs Quartet

This performance is the final of four concerts offered for the Tryon Concert Association's 2009-2010 series.

Recognized as one of the world's premiere string quartets, the Takács Quartet is renowned for the ability to fuse four distinct, expressive musical personalities into gripping, unified interpretations. Commenting on their latest Schubert recording for Hyperion, Gramophone magazine noted; "The Takács have the ability to make you believe that there’s no other possible way the music should go, and the strength to overturn preconceptions that comes only with the greatest performers."

Based in Boulder at the University of Colorado, the Takács Quartet performs ninety concerts a year worldwide, performing throughout Europe as well as in Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Korea.

The Tryon Concert Association subscription is $75, covering all four performances. Student subscription is $20 each. Out-of-town guests may attend performances for $25 each.
