Tryon Wine Society's Celebrity Winemakers Dinner

Hi Wine Lovers!  You are invited to join us for Tryon Wine Society's Celebrity Winemakers Dinner for Charity this Thursday, January 21st at the historic 1906 Pine Crest Inn & Restaurant.  The reception will start at 6:30 PM with dinner at 7:00 PM.  This month's special guest is David Tate, winemaker of Barnett Vineyards atop Spring Mountain in Napa Valley.
                                                                                                                         
David will be in Tryon sharing his story of how he started in winemaking, and how he ended up making wine at one of Napa Valley’s premier Cabernet producers.  The Pine Crest Inn & Tryon Wine Society will continue their program of donating a portion of the proceeds from the dinner to a local non-profit charity.  This month’s charity will be the Foothills Habitat for Humanity.
                                                                                                            
Barnett Vineyards produces less than 5,000 cases of wine per year & is most known for their world-class Cabernet Sauvignon; each of the last 5 vintages has received 90-96 points from the Wine Spectator, Wine Advocate & other industry magazines.  All of Barnett's current vintage cabernets recently received 90+ point from Robert Parker, with their Rattlesnake Hill cab getting 95 points! We hope you can join us!
 
The reception & dinner will feature Barnett’s Spring Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon as well as their single-vineyard Chardonnay & two of their single-vineyard Pinot Noirs paired with cuisine carefully created by the 1906 Pine Crest Inn's outstanding culinary team.  
 
We will also have a very special bonus tasting of the 2006 and 2007 Rattlesnake Hill Cabernet Sauvignon and both wines will be available to purchase.  This is Barnett’s top-rated cab with production levels around 500 cases a year and has previously not be readily available outside of the winery.

The dinner will start at 7:00 PM this Thursday with a social in the lobby starting at 6:30 PM.  Scott will talk about their wines between courses & answer any questions throughout the evening.  The cost of the dinner including wine pairings is $64.95. All of the wines from the dinner can be purchased or ordered at significant discounts.  Space is limited to 40 people.  All of the wines will be available for purchase or to order Thursday evening & will be delivered by the following Thursday.
 
Rooms at the inn will be available at a 40% discount for those attending the dinner.  For those that haven’t attended previous dinners, this is a great opportunity to spend additional time with our guest of honor & special bottles of wine have been known to appear later in the evening at many of these functions.
