September Spectacular Horse Show to Benefit PAC

This spectacular horse show at Harmon Field is the focal point of a wonderful event to raise funds for the Pacolet Area Conservancy whose mission is to protect and conserve the irreplaceable natural resources in one of the United States' most biologically diverse and treasured areas.  We invite you to join us and enjoy all that is planned around this event on September 10 and 11.  Here are your opportunities:

HUGE TAG SALE Friday & Saturday 9 am til 4 pm Friday in the screened pavilion beside the river deck, Saturday in the ringside pavilion-- tons of estate antique pieces, original art and prints, furniture (two magnificent coffee tables), jewelry selection, lamps, knick-knacks--too many items to list ALL AT BARGAIN PRICES! COME EARLY FOR THE BEST SELECTION.

TACK for PAC SALE Friday and Saturday 9 am til 4 pm- in the PAC horse trailer. Show clothes, tack, horse blankets, etc. Marked to sell!

FABULOUS SILENT AUCTION ongoing in the Harmon Field Cabin during the Tag and Tack for PAC Sales and continuing until the first round of the Hunter Derby ends Saturday evening. Some of the items up for bids: Framed hunting dog print, "4 Blondes" wine basket, Unusual jewelry, Vera Bradley items, Essence Day Spa package, Stay at Dogwood Farm Kennels, "Mama Mia" Italian basket with wines and cheese, Block House Steeplechase parking space, pillows, gift items, Headlines cut & shampoo, tote bags, Framed Camellia art, "Contrasts" mixed media by Dom Ferullo, ceramic bean pot--something for all budget!

DERBY FIESTA DINNER- Saturday evening before the $2,500 Hunter Derby. Your $10 dinner ticket includes a fiesta buffet and, for adults over 21, one adult beverage. Limited number of tickets will be sold through Sept. 9 at the PAC Office, and at the Horse Show Office during the Horse show. Enjoy the fiesta, visit the Silent Auction, then watch the excitement as Hunter Derby contenders send their mounts over a rigorous course of natural fences in the main ring.

All proceeds go the Pacolet Area Conservancy to support PAC’s mission of “Saving the Places You Love”.

Harmon Field is a public park of approximately 45 acres dedicated to sports and recreation. It is the home of the nationally recognized Blue Ridge BBQ Festival and host of many equine events. At Harmon Field you will find paved walking trails, covered picnic tables, a fenced Tiny Tot playground, baseball fields, soccer fields, tennis courts and a seven-hole putting green. Walk the trails and listen to the river or find an old log cabin.

Music in the Field

During the summer, there is Music in the Field every first Sunday through October from 6 to 8 pm.

The Toy Tub

Harmon Field has tetherball, volleyball and a "Toy Tub" available for party rental at the park. Just reserve the fun by calling Tryon Town Hall at 859-6654. The tub includes horseshoes, croquet, bocce, badminton, frisbee, and a variety of balls.

Gatherings at the Log Cabin

Rent the log cabin with kitchen, covered picnic area, decks overlooking Pacolet River, public bathrooms, playground, track, tennis courts, baseball field, and horse show rings.

Cabin and covered picnic area available by reservation (small fee for log cabin rental).

Directions

From I-26, take exit 67, NC 108 west toward Tryon. When the road makes a Y, follow the signs to US 176, toward Saluda, to the right onto Harmon Field Rd. Harmon Field will be on your right.
