Rogers Park Summer Tracks Concert Series

Starts: Jul 9 7:00 PM
Ends: Jul 9 10:00 PM

Tonight's performance of the Rogers Park Summer Tracks Concert Series features two dynamite groups--The Mark Yaxley Trio and The Red Hot Sugar Babies.  Join us for tonight's event.  You will not be disappointed!

Jaxx-blues guitar master Marc Yaxley has opened for jazz great Ramsey Lewis, trumpeter Maynard Ferguson and blues rocker Warren Haynes and was recently featured on National Public Radio. In addition to performing, Yaxley teaches guitar at the UNF Asheville and at Carolina Band Supply in Brevard. Cameron Austin, on bass and Bill Berg, on drums will be joining Marc. Bill Berg is well known as the drummer for the 1980's-90's contemporary jazz band Flim & the BB's.

The opening act, The Red Hot Sugar Babies is an energetic jazz band performing music of the roaring 1920's and 30's - popular music made famous by vocalists like Bessie Smith and Ethel Waters and jazz legends such as Jelly Roll Morton, Fats Waller and Louis Armstrong.  Plus a bit of blues and swing.

Gates open at 6 p.m. Concerts from 7 to 10 pm. Tracks is produced by the Town of Tryon in affiliation with Peter Eisenbrown of Blockparty Productions. Admission is free, though a voluntary donation at the gate is encouraged. Wood-fired pizzas, homemade ice cream, water and soft drinks for sale.
