Do-It-Yourself Messiah at Tryon Fine Arts Center
The "Dynamic Duo" is at it again, directing and accompanying Handel's Messiah. Jan Impey and Pam McNeil are planning to do just that. If you love Handel's Messiah and have sung it or parts of it, and want the chance to sing it again, then join us for your chance to be enveloped in this glorious music. What is Christmas without the Messiah and the "Hallelujah Chorus?"
Jan, Pam soloists, reader and instrumentalists will be on the Veh Family Stage at TFAC. The theater will be divided into sections for sopranos, altos, tenors and basses, the important chorus members for this oritorio. With no rehearsal planned, all soloists and choristers wills sing the major parts of the Christmas section of the Messiah leading up to the "hallelujah Chorus."
The inspiration of Handel's genius surely is the setting for a memorable Christmas, 2009. You are encouraged to be a part of this preparatory event no matter how recently you have sung this magnificent work. There is no admission charge and non-singers are encouraged to come and listen. Copies of the complete Messiah are available for all singers.
